The Request for Notice of Default is a California-only option for any party to be notified if and when a notice of default is recorded against the property. The parties requesting the notice are commonly unrelated to the party of the lien for which they want to be provided notice of. As such when the new loan is in a subordinate position, the new Lender can enter under the Property Tab - Lien Position the option to "California - Request for Copy of Notice of Default":
