What are indexing instructions for the state of Mississippi?

The indexing instruction data field is required by Mississippi and will appear on the cover page of the Deed of Trust. This information may be obtained by the title or escrow company.

Mississippi law indicates that the deed of trust must include an indexing instruction stating the information such as the section, township, and range and one or more quarter sections, governmental lots, or other applicable subdivisions of each section in which the land is located.

The Indexing Instruction data field for a Mississippi property loan can be found on the Property page of the loan order record.

When prompted, you must enter the indexing instruction on the order as an ordering requirement for a property in Mississippi. The indexing instruction is for the cover page of the Mississippi deeds of trust.

If you would like to circumvent that order validation and have lender's title/closing attorney fill out the appropriate information, you can put in a blank line ("_______________") to be filled out as part of closing.

You may obtain the indexing information from the title or escrow company.
